Music & People really are Healing

This is some Shetland wool plyed with some Corriedale wool.  I love spinning wool!!!

I've been a bit trapped in the house this week as I had an operation on Monday to fix some bits that were broke!  So I've dug out a couple of nice pictures that my mum took when we went on a Buddhist 'meditation and hill walking' retreat at Dhanakosa Retreat Centre in Scotland.  It was a year and a half a go now, which seems a long time!

A Rough Mix

I am also fiddling with these songs that my pal Elliott from Snowline Productions and I have been working on for possible future soundtracks.  It's great to be getting back into recording and writing music again.  Singing and creating music is such a huge part of me I don't know  how I've managed to live without it for the past few years!

Another Rough Mix

Thank you everybody for all of your support, patience and kindness over these past few months of wonky hen.  Times like these when I realise just how lucky I am to be surrounded by such loving people.  In the physical world and in this beautiful virtual world.

huge warm hugs, huge ones,

Act of Kindness

Scene setting...

We've only been in this village for a couple of months. Unfortunately we haven't really had the opportunity to get to know many people yet. I don't tend to run out and make lots of friends very quickly, as I find it hard to meet people of like-mind (hence the blog!).

Deep down I know that humans are amazing. We are compassionate beings of infinite kindness - deep down that is ;o) Mostly, humans find it hard to show just how wonderful they are, for lots and lots of reasons that I wont go into here and that we all know. So, when I am the subject of an act of kindness, I am always overwhelmed with happiness and spend a long time wallowing in the loveliness of it all.

This...

... is a large bolt of posh willow withies. Steamed willow, white willow and buff willow.

We had a knock on the door yesterday by a lovely person from our village, who we have never met before, to say that they couldn't help noticing that I made baskets (how they noticed I have no idea!! Maybe it's the willow lying around everywhere and the volume of expletives when I'm trying to keep a basket from going wonky!!). Anyway, this lady had gone on a course and come away with this starter pack of willow and since then it had sat in a corner, not really doing very much. They would like me to have it instead.

WOW!

A mindfulness bell. A bell to remind me, no matter how small it may seem or how huge, of just how wonderful, how gloriously simple and beautifully lovely, humans can be.

Kindness, Gratitude and Pants

Thank you for all your lovely comments! They have helped me push through the past few weeks!

We are in limbo at the moment, staying with family, waiting for a house to come up in Exmoor. Waiting is pants. There is no other word for it. However, we have a plan, so it's head high and onward!

Kim wrote a wonderful piece in her blog about the connection between us bloggers and forumers. Women who have never met, in person, offering open hearted support to each other. I used to be very suspicious about internet things and stuff, but now I don't know how else you are to meet so many people of like mind. The women and men that I have had contact with through the internet have been motivational and inspirational. I have learnt so much from all of you. In a way, it's wonderfully bizarre!

So, thank you and I wish all of you deep and lasting happiness forever.
